Many years ago, doors were discovered in an ancient ruin. They were gateways, 12 of them. The gateways to the the realms of different races, Nekos, Demons, Inus, Angels, Kitsunes, Bunnies, Vampires, Elf's, Spirits, Werewolves, Witches and Magicians. When these doors are irreversibly opened, the races are merged together. Over time the different races adapted to each other and began immigrating between the different worlds.
Some of the races may look different but everyone's the same on the inside really. Just because someone's demon does not make them any more evil, just because someone is an angel doesn't make them any more gentle. Despite their respective positive and negative connotations, all the races are equally good-natured and much like humans, they all have their own personality traits. Race is nothing but race, and people have learned to accept that. All of the races, apart from humans, had Kings that were chosen for their strength, leadership, skill and intelligence among other things.
Here, in Shizukashi, things are usually nice and peaceful in most places. It can't be completely perfect but the average life expectancy rate for this town is good and it's great place to live. This city is a home to many people and it always welcomes new comers and visitors. Welcome to Shizukashi.
